Looney's Quarantine with Covid-19

April 7th Tonight was a supermoon. After working on the pool (yay it was an all out effort but we primed the pump) and cleaning around the pool and yard we took a golf cart rides with the dogs, Griffin drove, around he golf course and neighborhood. The moon was so bright and beautiful. Today was nearly 80° and perfect. This was supposed to be spring break for the kids.  Our house is lit up green once again as we have lost 7 lives in Kentucky today. It was announced that Letcher County had their first positive case. But the numbers are becoming less important as they grow and grow. More and more testing is being done this the numbers only increase. More die. As I type this the current death rate of those in Kentucky who contract the virus is 6%. That's a scary number. My hope is that once more widespread testing is done we will see that number shrink. April 2, 2020 -Gas price was $1.35 at Costco. See pic. -School cancelled until at least May 1st in KY. We expect it will be closed for the remainder of the school year. -Parents are holding classes at their kitchen tables while kids do their NTI work (non-traditional instruction) -Teachers are parading through neighborhoods to wave at their students from a safe distance. Morale boost. -Self-distancing measures are the rule of the land. -Jails and prisons are releasing non-violent and non-sexual offenders. -Nation Guardsmen and women are stationed at all of our hospitals. -Tape is on the floors at grocery stores and other stores to help distance shoppers (6ft) from each other while they wait to check out. -Limited number of people inside stores, therefore, lineups outside the store doors. I didn't sleep a single minute last night. I just don't know if anxiety, boredom, stress or worry is causing my insomnia. I suppose tonight I'll be so tired I will finally sleeping some. Last night I decided the family needed a bit of normalcy so I ordered take out from the local japanese habachi restaurant. I had not orders take out during the quarantine so far. Restaurants are remaining open but for take out or delivery only. I still worry about the people preparing, packaging and delivering meals leaving their germs on our food. But, I did some research on Covid-19 and realized the risk was very low. The CDC is recommending we have delivery drivers leave our packages at the door as to not have contact with them. Then for take out or delivery they recommend taking the food out of the bag, toss the bag, Lysol wipes all containers and put food into our own plates and dishes. To go one step further they say to microwave the food for 30 seconds to kill any bacteria or virus...

3/29/20 Sunday I'm having nightmares and the occuring things I have is one, hearing this quote over and over and two, seeing all the PPE that was shipped to Wuhan by the State Department back in February. "You can call it a germ. You can call it a flu. You can call it a virus. You know, you can call it many different names. I'm not sure anybody even knows what it is." I thought this post was poignant to share.  A gentleman named Arnold Williamson posted this reply to a comment on Facebook.  Currently, the death rate in New York from COVID-19 is roughly one death every 7 minutes. Large refrigeration trucks have been brought on site to hospitals to serve as morgues for the extra bodies. When someone dies from this virus in ICU, sadly, they die alone. Because the virus is so contagious, no visitors are allowed. There is no one there with them in their final moments, as they struggle to breathe. No family members to comfort them or hold their hand. The beginning... What a week this has been. As cruise ships and cities in the Northwest were beginning to see cases of the novel coronavirus several weeks ago we knew we were in for a significant disturbance in live as we knew. China had predominantly become the hub of the virus where it was believed as of present the virus began in humans at a Wuhan market where people ate foods such as bags and bat soup. It is believed the virus was caused from a coronavirus crossing over the animal world to humans there. Bats carry many coronaviruses and we do not get understand why that is and why the viruses don't seem to make bats sick. The large city of Wuhan was overrun with illness causing the totalitarian government of China to lock down the city.
